Hi Product Hunt, I'm the maker of HausDraft.
A room done by a top interior designer has always been out of reach for most people: you need the designer, the budget and the taste. HausDraft is our attempt to hand that to everyone.
What we built. We studied how the world's leading interior designers and design movements put a room together, and catalogued thousands of real furniture pieces, art and collectibles. All of that became design recipes: which colours go together, which materials, the one statement piece, which pieces belong in the same room, how much space to leave empty. When you redesign your room, it follows a recipe instead of guessing.
Why not just ask ChatGPT? I tried. It can make a beautiful room, and if you name a style it gets close. But:
Every image starts from zero. Nothing is chosen to go with anything else, so it looks designed at first glance and falls apart when you look closer.
You have to know the words: the style names, the materials, what a designer would ask for.
Ask it to change just the rug and it redraws the whole room, sometimes moving your window.
You can't do anything with it next: no floor plan, no list of pieces, no cost.
How it works.
Upload one photo of your room. Your walls, windows and layout stay where they are.
Pick a style, then pick how far to take it:
Studio: what's hot right now, the pieces design lovers are saving this season, put together
Maison: brand-new and high-end, like a designer showroom you'd actually live in
Collector: built around art and a few rare finds, like the home of someone who collects
Make it yours: add pieces from our library of 200+ or upload a photo of a sofa you love; change the wall, cabinet, accent-wall or front-door colour from 53 colours or your own; choose exactly which parts change and which stay.
Then take it further: draw the floor plan to scale, put the pieces on a mood board and find similar ones to buy, and estimate the remodel cost by room and ZIP code.
