Hard Graft is a focus timer that treats you like a grownup. No pomodoros, no break bells, no trees. Clock on, work as long as you like, clock off. Rolling seven-day hours set your rank on a 24-step ladder, from DEAD WEIGHT up. Ease off and you slide back down. The Regulator, a machine with no interest in your excuses, hands out promotions and demotions. Tag hours to jobs, collect 40 achievements, or switch to quiet mode for a plain stopwatch. No account, no ads, no tracking, no subscription.
Hi Product Hunt,
I built Hard Graft because I have ADHD and couldn't find a focus timer that worked the way I do. Most productivity timers want to be your friend, plant a tree for you, or charge you monthly for the privilege.
Hard Graft counts up. You clock on, work until you're done, and clock off. Your hours over the last seven days feeds into your rank on a 24 step ladder. The Regulator is a machine with no interest in your excuses. It promotes you when you put the hours in and demotes you when you don't. The app keeps no streaks and no record of demotions, so a bad week leaves no trace once you recover.
A few things I care about:
• Everything stays on your phone. There's no account, no analytics and no ads, and the app makes no network calls of its own.
• The free version is the whole app, up to rank 13. One optional purchase opens the last ten ranks and the achievement conditions, and adds two colour schemes. No subscription.
• Quiet mode switches off the ranks, the achievements and The Regulator. Some days you just want a stopwatch.
I make this on my own around a full-time job, and I use it every day. My brother uses it to track his workouts.
It's on Android. I'd like to hear what you'd use it for and what gets in your way.
