Hangly Hearts is a desktop photo frame for Mac that hangs your favourite photos from the top of your screen. Partners, family, pets, or memories you want nearby while you work. Unlike static widgets or social feeds, each keepsake swings on a real rope physics simulation. Grab it, flick it, let it settle. Clicks pass through everywhere else, so your desktop stays fully usable.
I built Hangly Hearts because the people I love aren’t always at my desk. Different rooms, cities, time zones. But I still wanted them *there* while I work. Not in a feed. Not in a tab I forget to open. I wanted something quieter.
Just a little face sitting at the top of my screen while I work. ❤️
That tiny idea turned into Hangly Hearts. A desktop photo frame that feels like it belongs on macOS. It opens automatically when you log in, so your favourite people are just there, without another app or tab you have to remember to open.
So I made a desktop photo frame that actually feels native to macOS: • Real rope physics i.e grab, flick, swing, settle • Click-through everywhere except the charm (your work stays clickable) • Animation stops when still (no pointless GPU drain) • Multi-monitor support with remembered positions • Your personal photos stay on your Mac and are never sent over the internet. • App can work fully offline too, so your photos don’t need to leave your computer.
Try it free with the Hangly Heart and lucky charms.
Would love your feedback: 1. Who would you keep on your desktop? 2. What frame styles should we add next?
