GymMayday identifies gym equipment from a photo or text search, then generates a step-by-step usage guide, safety tips, and target muscles — powered by Claude AI. No login required. Your profile, history, and badges stay on your device, with optional iCloud backup. Includes a customizable virtual coach, achievement badges, and nearby gym search. Free tier included. Available in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built GymMayday because I kept standing in front of gym machines having no idea how to use them, and felt too awkward to ask. So I made an app that lets you snap a photo of any equipment and instantly get a usage guide, safety tips, and which muscles it targets — powered by Claude AI.
A few things I focused on:
- No account needed — everything stays on your device (with optional iCloud backup)
- A customizable virtual coach for a bit of personality
- Achievement badges to keep you motivated to keep showing up
Would love to hear what you think, especially if you're someone who's ever felt lost at the gym like I was!

🚀 GymMayday just got a major update — v1.0.6 is live!
New here? GymMayday turns any gym machine into a clear, beginner-friendly lesson — just point your camera at it or type its name, and AI tells you how to use it, safety tips, and which muscles it targets.
What's new in this release:
🎨 Brand new App Icon — a fresh visual identity for the app
📸 Share your workout as a photo card — turn any day's training into a shareable card, apply filters, and freely reposition the photo and text before sending it out
🧠 Smarter AI — equipment/movement recognition now automatically tags the body part you trained (chest, back, legs, arms, core, cardio...), laying the groundwork for training analytics down the road
🏅 More to unlock — badges expanded from 6 to 10, including new ones for workout logging, training volume, rep count, and sharing
⚡ Faster logging — the equipment/movement name field is now a quick-pick menu pulled from your own search history, so you're not retyping the same machine names
🔔 Better reminders — nudges to get back to training are now based on your actual workout log instead of AI search activity, so they show up when they're actually useful
Still 100% free to try, no account required, available in 6 languages.
Would love to hear what you think! 💪

Fun experiment: I used AI to make a video! I was trying to convey the frustration of staring at gym equipment and not knowing what to do... but AI video eats credits so quickly. So here's just a short teaser for now—hope to share a full version later
