GoodHabits gives a single habit a 66-day run, based on University College London research that found a median of 66 days—not the 21-day myth everyone repeats. Miss a day, and you can still log it until the end of the next one, because the design assumes you're a person and not a streak. It's for people who want one thing to stick, not a dashboard of everything they're failing at.

honestly the "you can still log it until the end of the next day" bit is kind of brilliant, like finally a habit app that gets that life happens and you don't want to lose your streak because your kid was up all night. really thoughtful UX choice.

Thanks — a bad night is exactly the case it exists for. One day is deliberately narrow: enough for that, not enough for a bad week. A window that forgives everything stops meaning anything.
Where I'm less confident is what happens after the window closes — the count restarts. The study behind the 66 days suggests that's harsher than the evidence warrants, so it's the part I'd most like to be talked out of.

The 66-day model with a grace day is such a humane take on habit building — removing the all-or-nothing streak pressure is exactly why most trackers fail people. Love the philosophy here, congrats! 🌱
@zvonimir_sabljic1 Thank you. I should be straight about one thing, though: it doesn't remove the all-or-nothing pressure; it buys you one day. Miss two in a row and the count does restart — the grid keeps the days you already completed, but the run starts over.
That's the part I'm least sure about. The study the 66 comes from actually found that missing a single day didn't measurably affect habit formation, which is a stronger argument for leniency than I've implemented. I kept the hard edge because people tell me it's what makes them show up. If you have a view on that, I'd take it.

Congrats on the launch, Simon! The grace-day concept is such a thoughtful touch — habits should survive real life, not break on one missed day. Love it. 🎉
@zvonimir_sabljic1 Thanks!
