Most AI tools make you explain the context before they can help. Goldfish already has it. It privately remembers what you’ve been working on across your Mac, then helps you write better from any app. Press Option in a text field to draft replies, summarize threads, rewrite sentences, or recall important details from your recent work without copying, pasting, or re-explaining the whole backstory.

Been using Goldfish for over a month now (super grateful to be given early access) and it genuinely fixes one of the most annoying parts of using AI: having to re-explain everything every single time.
The cross-app context is the killer bit. You can go from a thread, doc, email, or random tab straight into a text field and it already has enough context to help without the copy paste ritual.
Super excited to see this live on PH 🐠

@githubanant Thank you for the comments Anant, good use case with the cross-app context! Happy to hear that you find its useful!
Is there any other use case that has been good?
@kar_re the day/week recap thing is underrated. when i’m context switching a lot, it’s nice to just ask what i was working on and get the thread back instantly.
Goldfish
@githubanant Super nice! Yes, I agree :)! def underrated atm, will also get better over time I think!
@githubanant thank you for the ridiculous support. this is exactly the thing we wanted Goldfish to kill: copy paste context rituals 🐠
I've been using Goldfish for more than 2 weeks now, and it's game-changer. A super useful use case for me is writing simple answers to email loops. Goldfish already has the context, the response are always very appropriate, and the Option key provides a seamless experience to use Goldfish in your workflow.
Goldfish
@el_pa_b Thank you so much Pierre-Antoine! Happy to hear that its useful for you. Have you tried it in French yet? 🇫🇷
@kar_re I did, and the results are very idiomatic! LFG!
Goldfish
@el_pa_b Content de l’entendre! :- D
@el_pa_b love that email loops became the use case. merci for pushing it so hard 🐠
Repetitive context creation. Is it now a thing of the past?
The most annoying thing with AI is always having to repeat the same personas, the same context, and writing things in your own words again and again. I've only been using Goldfish for awhile, but having built-in context without needing to create custom contexts/skills for each tool that I use daily has been great.
I'm looking forward to using Goldfish more and see how much it can really handle. Glad it doesn't have a Goldfish memory, or that would have been troublesome.
Goldfish
@travis_isaacson Thanks Travis! And haha, very glad we dodged the Goldfish memory problem.
Would love to hear where it starts breaking once you’ve used it more. That “how much can it really handle” question is exactly what we’re trying to learn now.
@travis_isaacson thank you Travis, really appreciate it. repetitive context creation is exactly the thing we wanted to make disappear without forcing you to set up a new persona or custom skill for every tool.
curious what your best use cases have been so far? 🐠
Been using Goldfish for a while now and the cross-app context is what really clicks.
Not having to copy paste threads, docs, emails, tabs, or explain the same project again every time removes so much friction. Option key in any text field feels like the right interface for this.
Big congrats on the launch Joel and Kaspian 🐠
Goldfish
@oskar13 Thank you for the early support Oskar, I'm truly truly grateful 🫶☺️
you're one of the people who really got Goldfish early, and seeing you use it this much has been insane. thank you for backing us 🐠
@oskar13 thank you Oskar, means a lot. the Option key feeling like the right interface is exactly the kind of thing we were hoping would click 🐠 what is the next step for goldfish to build?
Next step for me would be making the memory feel more inspectable and steerable. Not just “Goldfish knows my context”, but letting me quickly see what it’s using, correct it when needed, and choose what should or shouldn’t carry over between apps.
Huge congrats on the launch 🐠
What really lands for me is that Goldfish shows up exactly where the work is happening. I’ve been using it to write and rewrite emails and LinkedIn messages, but also to make sense of complex topics while I’m reading through them at the same time. That cross-app context is the thing that turns AI from a separate chatbot into something genuinely useful in the flow of work.
The onboarding was super smooth too, and the local-first memory with explicit privacy controls feels essential for a product that sits this close to messy, sensitive work.
Excited to keep using it and see where it goes!
@m_jacquillat thank you Marie, really appreciate this. the cross-app bit is the whole reason we built it this way, and privacy has to be first-class when the product is sitting this close to real work 🐠
Goldfish
@m_jacquillat Thank you so much!! The cross-app part is exactly where it starts feeling less like a chatbot and more like part of the OS.
do you feel it gets the context wrong sometime? would love to learn more!
Been using Goldfish now and it already feels very natural. The biggest win is not having to copy/paste context between apps or explain what I’m working on before getting a useful draft.
The local memory + Option-key flow is the part that makes it actually fit into daily work. Another amazing part is that it actually picked up my type of writing almost directly.
Congrats on the launch, really impressive work!
Goldfish
@mhogfeldt thank you!! the writing style part makes me extra happy to hear, because that’s the part that’s hardest to fake and easiest to feel when it’s wrong 🐠
Do you have any specific usecases you use goldfish for?
@mhogfeldt thank you Mattias, really appreciate it. wild how much of “AI at work” is just removing the copy/paste tax and letting the right context follow you 🐠

The Option key trigger is such a clean wedge. If the reply feels native instead of botty, this could get dangerous fast.
Goldfish
thanks @sarveshsea , that's the exact line we're trying to hit, native first, AI second 🐠
have you tried it? What do you think? :- D
@sarveshsea yes, exactly. native is the whole bar here. And the wedge only works if it feels like it truly gets your tone of voice. We've worked hard on this and hope it's working. Let us know what you think! 🐠
