A free dark mode extension for Chrome that darkens every website before it paints, so there is no white flash. Skips sites that are already dark.
Hi Product Hunt! š I'm from the GoDarkMode team.
Every dark mode extension we tried had the same problems: pages flash bright white before turning dark, sites that already have a dark theme get inverted into something bright, and photos end up looking like negatives. So we built GoDarkMode to fix exactly those.
What makes it different:
ā¢ No white flash. Pages load already dark instead of flashing white first
ā¢ Leaves dark sites alone. It measures each page and skips ones with their own dark theme (with a "Theme it anyway" switch if you disagree)
ā¢ Photos stay normal. Images, videos and even background photos keep their real colours
ā¢ Softness slider. Go from pure black (great on OLED screens) to a softer grey that's easier on the eyes
ā¢ Per-site control. Set any site to always dark or never dark, or toggle everything with Alt+Shift+D
