Factur-X is France's hybrid PDF/XML invoice format, central to the upcoming French B2B e-invoicing mandate. Most existing tools are either heavyweight French compliance platforms or developer-only libraries with no UI. GetFacturX is the simple consumer alternative: drop in a file to validate it with plain-language errors, or generate a compliant Factur-X invoice from a clean form. No signup, no API key. Just the format, made approachable for accountants, freelancers, and small businesses.
This one is personal. The reason InvoiceXML exists in the first place is that I needed to generate Factur-X for a project of my own and discovered that every option was either thousands of euros per year or a fragmented open-source mess that only worked if you wanted to spend a weekend reading 400 pages of UN/CEFACT CII spec.
I built the API first to solve my own problem. But then accountants and freelancers in France started reaching out, mostly people who'd been told by their clients that invoices needed to be Factur-X compliant and were trying to figure out what that even meant.
GetFacturX is the answer for them. No code, no API key, no learning curve. Upload a file, see what's wrong in plain language. Or fill in a form, download a compliant PDF with the embedded XML.
With the French B2B e-invoicing mandate rolling in, demand for something simple in this space is growing fast. Most SMBs in France are still figuring out what Factur-X even is, and the existing tools don't meet them where they are.
Feedback very welcome, especially from anyone in France actually dealing with the transition right now.
