I’m Andrew, the maker of Get-Gig.
For years the only real way most of us found a good plumber, electrician, HVAC tech or cleaner was posting in a neighborhood Facebook group. “Anyone know someone reliable?” It worked until the thread died, the recommendation was three years old, or the person never showed up. Trust was hard to verify and there was zero structure.
I built Get-Gig to keep that community recommendation feel but give it the tools it always needed. Smart matching, real booking, secure payments held in escrow, and mutual ratings so both homeowners and pros can hold each other accountable. Pros are admin-reviewed for license and insurance, and both sides rate each other after the job.
It’s still early. The demo is live. I’m focused on making the trust layer actually work instead of just another lead-gen marketplace.
I’d love honest feedback from this community:
- Does the matching and mutual rating approach feel useful?
- What’s the biggest frustration you still have finding local home service pros?
- Anything that feels missing or overcomplicated?
Thanks for checking it out. Looking forward to the conversation.
Andrew

Finally a real alternative to scrolling through those messy neighborhood Facebook posts looking for someone to fix a sink. Tried it last week and the match came back with a plumber who actually showed up on time.

Would love to see a "favorite pros" list with notes per provider, like remembering which plumber helped with the old water heater and what I paid last time. Right now I lose track of who showed up when, and that's the kind of context that keeps me coming back to the same trusted people.
Such a promising launch—congrats on Get-Gig! Neighborhood recommendations without the Facebook chaos is a clever idea. Wishing you a strong Product Hunt day! 🚀
