Hi Product Hunt š
I'm Sherif, founder of GeoMarineHub. My family has supplied ships since 1981, and the buying side has barely changed: a vessel's crew e-mails a list of 100+ items to a few chandlers they already know, then compares PDFs by hand, line by line, while the ship is due in port in two days.
GeoMarineHub turns that into one requisition and a fair comparison:
⢠Post once: on the web, in the app, or just forward the e-mail with the Excel or Word list to supply@geomarinehub.com. We read the attachment and turn every line into an IMPA-coded item.
⢠Sealed bids from the port: verified suppliers at that port (trade licence and ownership checked) price the lines. Nobody sees another supplier's price, so the offer is the real one.
⢠Compare like for like: offers line up per IMPA code, with lead time and alternatives.
We are a marketplace only: we never buy or resell the goods. Buyers pay nothing and there is no commission on what they buy.
Where we are today: 60 verified suppliers, a 50,000-item IMPA catalogue, and port guides for the ports we serve.
I would love feedback from anyone who has bought for a ship, run a chandlery, or built a B2B marketplace. What would make you trust a new supplier you've never met?
