Hi everyone! GDevelop is my personal open-source project since a bit of time now and I'm really excited to launch it on Product Hunt! The idea behind GDevelop is to allow anyone to create games without learning complex tools or programming languages. It has already being used successfully for various indie games, for teaching kids about game creation or in game jams. 👾 It is bundled with tons of examples and there are a few tutorials to get you started. Easy to use, plenty of examples, and a knowledgeable community makes for a great experience. Support is second to none and the developer is very responsive and the product is updated frequently.

Pros:

Fast prototyping, produce games without code, like construct, but open source and free :)

Cons:

Complex games are difficult to make

Hey Pete, thanks for the review! 👍 It's indeed always a challenge to properly manage the growing complexity when making a large game. I do have a few ideas to make it easier to handle (search tools, smart profilers or hints...) 😉

Nice wiki, forum, sample games, tutorials.

I REALLY recommand GDevelop to start creating your own Web or native (Windows, Linux) 2D games!

I started using GDevelop in 2011! And year after year, it is improving!

Great piece of software, Really!

Pros:

Simple, reliable, fast platform to develop 2D games.

Great software, nice community !

Cons:

There is really nice wiki... For me documentation could be a little bit better though...

Ibhave used it iand it is very easy to use, I lile the stand alone and not the online solution, but almost positive it works the same.

@ryan_thorpe1 Hey sorry I just saw your message now. No plan for a support in the short term - I guess someone could still take a look and see if the game engine could be adapted for it! Would be exciting for sure :)

Slow and not weak. Terrible workflow. Very unreliable. Useful for learning purposes only.
