Hey PH 👋 I built GateProof because every event check-in tool I looked at wanted my guest list on their servers, and took a cut of every ticket to do it. GateProof does the opposite: events, passes, and scanning all live on your own devices. There's no GateProof backend — attendee data never reaches us, and the only sync is your own iCloud, if you turn it on. Passes are cryptographically signed and verified right on the scanning device, so check-in works in a basement, a field, or a venue with terrible Wi-Fi. Built for workshops, private parties, members-only events, company offsites, community gatherings — anyone who'd rather not hand a stranger's guest list to a ticketing company. A few honest limits, since I'd rather say it here than have you find out later: it's iOS-only right now (iPhone/iPad to scan, Mac/iPhone/iPad to build the event), and if you run multiple totally isolated scanners that never sync with each other, duplicate-entry detection isn't bulletproof — syncing your door devices (Wi-Fi or direct) closes that gap.
