Gappp is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad that lets you measure the size of objects on flat or vertical surfaces. You can measure objects on ceilings that are normally out of reach or even on buildings in the distance without having to visit them in person. Using Gappp is simple. Switch to the Camera screen and wait for the colored square to turn green. Then, use the slider at the bottom of the screen to adjust the square to match the size of the object you want to measure.

Hello Product Hunt community! 👋
We are thrilled to introduce Gappp, an iOS app built to solve a frustrating everyday problem: measuring things that are completely out of reach.
Whether you're trying to figure out the dimensions of a high ceiling fixture, sizing up a window across the room, or estimating a structural element on a building across the street, traditional tape measures (and even standard AR rulers) can feel clunky or require you to get uncomfortably close.
We've built Gappp to make remote spatial measurements fast, visual, and highly repeatable. Instead of fiddling with placing individual point pins in 3D space, Gappp uses an intuitive, responsive target square that you can pinch, slide, and snap to any flat surface.
A few features I’m particularly excited about:
• Distance Defying: Measure high ceilings or distant vertical building facades without needing a ladder or physical access.
• Rapid-Fire Logging: Tap the screen to instantly lock in a measurement and keep going. You can log an entire room's worth of fixtures in seconds without leaving the camera view.
• Clean Text Exports: Turn your measurement sessions into plain-text data logs with a single tap, ready for your notes or spreadsheet apps.
Gappp is built natively for iPhone and iPad to feel right at home in your utility folder. We would love to hear your feedback on the tracking mechanics, the export flow, or any features you'd like to see in future updates! If you have a feature request, please let us know at https://blog.mhvt.net/?p=8323 .
