Gap-trip is an Android app for outings in Korea. Pick 30, 60, or 90 minutes and a travel mode to see reachable places on a map. Check official live crowd data where available, weather, air quality, travel time, and nearby facilities before you go.
love that the time presets are so quick to toggle. the map redraw feels instant when you switch between 30, 60, and 90 minutes, which makes deciding on a spot way less of a chore.
@rfanlt2k That instant redraw was one of the parts I kept tuning, so I'm glad it felt quick. I wanted the first question to be "how much time do I actually have?" instead of making people pan around the map.
Would love a way to save my favorite routes and get a quick notification when crowd levels drop at a spot I liked. Right now if I find a good 30-minute place in the evening, I have to remember to check again later.
@sleymanimefent Saving places is already in the app, but crowd-drop alerts aren't. That would be genuinely useful for the Seoul spots where official live data is available. I've added it to my list.
would love to see a saved history of trips so i can revisit the spots i picked last time
@hamdikayrazasr That makes sense. You can save places now, but the app doesn't keep a clean history of where you actually went. A recent trips list is probably the better version of that feature.
Finally an app that just tells me where i can actually go in 30 minutes instead of leaving me staring at a map forever. The live crowd data is genuinely useful, especially around the busier areas of seoul.
@azadkarasam Thanks Azad. The 30-minute button came from evenings when getting there would eat half the time I had. I was also tired of picking a place and then opening another app just to check the crowd.
