Fylert is a lightweight desktop app that checks DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files. Depending on format, checks cover comments or notes, unaccepted tracked changes, hidden sheets or slides, speaker notes, external links, local or network paths, and selected metadata. Document checks run locally. Document contents are never uploaded for scanning. Checks are read-only. Free Beta for Windows 10/11 (unsigned installer) and Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 12+ (not notarized by Apple).

I built Fylert after noticing how easy it is to send a document without knowing what is still inside it—depending on the format, that might be comments, unaccepted tracked changes, hidden sheets or slides, speaker notes, external links, local paths, or selected metadata.
The workflow is intentionally small: choose a folder, let Fylert check supported Office files on your computer, then review the findings before you send anything. Document checks run locally. Document contents are never uploaded for scanning. Checks are read-only and do not modify the original files.
This is my first public Beta for Windows 10/11 and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 or later. The applications are currently not fully signed. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the Windows build is not code-signed, and macOS may show a security warning because the macOS build is not notarized by Apple. The download page explains these warnings before installation.
I am releasing the Beta to learn three things:
Which checks catch something useful?
Which results are confusing or noisy?
What important document issue is still missing?
If you test it, even one concrete example or point of friction would help. Please do not share sensitive documents or their contents in public feedback.
