So we’d schedule another meeting. Bring more data. Argue a little more. But somehow the conversation would keep looping. What I started realizing is that the issue often wasn’t the quality of thinking. It was that everyone was looking at the problem through different perspectives at the same time. One person was thinking about risks. Another about opportunities. Someone else was asking for more evidence. The discussion just kept bouncing between those angles. I started experimenting with a simple facilitation trick: instead of debating freely, the group would deliberately switch perspectives together. For a few minutes we would only look at risks. Then only benefits. Then only data or assumptions. Surprisingly, that small change often unlocked the conversation. Fresh Eyes came from that experiment. It’s a very simple tool that helps teams shift perspectives during a discussion so problems can be examined from multiple lenses instead of getting stuck in circular debate. I built it mostly because I wanted something lightweight I could use in workshops and strategy sessions.
