We built the FreeWWW Image Converter & Resizer because changing an image format or size should not require installing software, creating an account, or uploading private files to a remote server. The project began as a simple JPG and PNG converter. We expanded the supported input formats to include GIF, BMP, WebP, SVG, AVIF, and TIFF, while adding flexible output formats for photos, transparent graphics, animations, and icons. We also introduced adjustable quality, exact resizing, percentage-based presets, aspect-ratio protection, file-size comparisons, clipboard copying, and support for files up to 50MB. All processing happens locally inside the user’s browser. Our goal is to make everyday image conversion faster, easier, and more private. Which image format should we support next?
