Frametide checks your Windows PC for the setup mistakes that cost the most frames (60 Hz monitor, wrong cable, RAM without XMP, single channel) and measures in your own game which settings run smoother: avg FPS, 1% lows and stutters, each preset against your original settings. Everything is reversible. Free version included.

Hi, I'm Michael, I build Frametide on my own.
Most "FPS booster" tools promise a number before they've seen your PC. That always bothered me, because whether a tweak helps depends on what limits your frame rate right now, and that changes per game and even per scene.
So Frametide does the opposite: it switches between presets of Windows, power and driver settings while you play the same scene, records every frame with Intel's PresentMon (ETW, nothing injected into the game), and compares avg FPS, 1%/0.1% lows and stutters per minute against your original settings. A common result is "no preset clearly beat your original settings", and the app says so instead of inventing a winner.
The part that surprised me most: the biggest gains were usually setup mistakes, not tweaks. A 144 Hz monitor running at 60 Hz, the cable in the motherboard, RAM without XMP/EXPO, single-channel memory, a GPU in an x4 slot. The scan checks those first.
Everything is reversible: original settings are saved before the first change, plus a restore point. Presets are suggested by Claude but only from a fixed list of settings the app knows how to apply and undo; the model never runs commands.
Free version: scan, cleanup, about 30% of the settings. Premium (€20/month) adds the presets, the in-game benchmarks and the rest. Happy to answer anything about how it measures.
