Hello everyone, I am allentown, the developer of FocusReader. I am a novice independent developer with many years of experience in app development and management As far as I'm concerned, I still have a predestined relationship with RSS. My first job was to make an RSS reader similar to Google reader. In those years, RSS was in full swing, but it didn't last long With the death of the reader, a lot of RSS software has perished. In the era of algorithm recommendation, RSS is more unusual. I used many local RSS readers in the middle of the year. Because I was a loyal user of Android, there was no mature app on Android at that time, so I gave up this way of reading for a time In 2019, I learned about inoreader and feedly platforms on the Internet, and I realized that there were still excellent companies doing such products, and the app experience was also good. However, after using inoreader and feedly for a long time, I found that there were many places that were not easy to use. For example, feedly is a web shell application, which does not support offline caching and full-text loading ,inoreader is powerful, but the free version doesn't support offline caching. I don't like the interface style very much. I have used several other apps during this period. I'd like to thank them for getting a lot of inspiration and ideas from them. Unfortunately, except feedme is still updating, other apps have stopped changing, compared with a batch of high-quality RSS on IOS App, Android side seems very sad, so I embarked on the road of independent development, to develop an app that I can use easily. It would be better if some people just like it Like the name of this app, focusreader, I hope it can focus on the core reading function, efficiently obtain and read the content concerned, and reduce interference factors. Therefore, the free version does not have any advertising. At the same time, the free version fully meets the needs and usage scenarios of most people. I hope it is powerful and intelligent, and avoids the complexity brought by too many settings, The interface is simple and efficient As for the payment mode, at the beginning, I connected to the buyout system, but before I went online, I decided to use the subscription system. Let me briefly talk about my idea. Take fiery feeds as an example, the author has been developing since 2014, I believe that in addition to the excellent products, the subscription system also plays a great role. It gives the author more motivation to develop iteratively and maintain continuously. After all, there must be a ceiling for the download volume of RSS scenario. If the buyout system is adopted, it may be the time for the author to abandon when the download volume reaches the bottleneck, most of the RSS products on Google play are the same, and they stopped updating within a year or two. Although the price is around $3, it means that you may need to spend $3 every 1-2 years to buy a new RSS product. On average, the life cycle of an RSS product does not exceed 2 years. If subscription system is adopted, there will be a good connection between developers and users. This is a virtuous circle. My vision is FocusReader can be as good as Reeder and fiery feeds on IOS, and more and more people use it, which can bring value to everyone
