A free, open-source focus timer for macOS. Beautiful menu bar timer with single-task focus, project analytics, and 100% local data. No accounts, no cloud, no tracking.

Hey Product Hunt! I'm Saransh, and I built Flumen because I was frustrated with every focus timer I tried on Mac.
Most Pomodoro apps are bloated with features I don't need. The good ones lock basics behind a paywall. And almost all of them want to store my data in their cloud - my day-to-day time expenditure is personal, and I didn't want it on someone else's server.
I also needed something accessible from the menu bar - not a browser tab or a full app window I have to dig for. Just a clean timer, always one click away.
What I built:
- Menu bar timer with an animated progress ring - always accessible without switching apps (can be pinned if needed)
- Task Shelf that enforces single-task focus - one goal at a time
- 4-7-8 breathing animations during breaks with organic blob backgrounds
- Project analytics to see where your time actually goes
- 100% local data - SQLite on your device, no accounts, no cloud, no telemetry which can be exported as a CSV
Why privacy matters here: Your focus data reveals what you work on, when you struggle, and what you avoid. It's deeply personal. Flumen stores all of it locally on your Mac. No server ever sees it. And since it's open source, you can verify that claim yourself and also suggest changes
Also, it's completely free and will always be. I truly believe tools like this should be free, especially in an era where anyone can build simple apps. No freemium, no premium tier, no "unlock for $X". I just built the timer I wanted and gave it away.
I'd love your feedback - what would make this better for your workflow? And if you're a developer, PRs are welcome on GitHub.
