Hey ProductHunt community! James here with Flume. I’m excited to announce the launch of our brand new product, Flume 2 Smart Home Water Monitor. Knowledge is power. But when it comes to water, many of us don’t know where to start. We designed Flume to change that. Flume puts the power of water consumption and conservation in your hands, protects your home, and improves your relationship with our most precious resource. Water has largely been neglected from the smart home space. It's typically very messy to create a solution and notoriously difficult to monitor. Flume is different from other solutions in 3 key ways (1) any one can install Flume, no pipe cutting, no wires, no screws (2) a single sensor monitors your entire property's usage including indoor & outdoor usage (3) it's much more cost effective at about 1/2 the price of other solutions. The Water Sensor attaches to your existing water meter and converts the magnetic revolutions into water usage. The Bridge sits in your home and relays data from the Water Sensor to Wifi. The Bridge allows for us to work in nearly any situation, even when the meter is thousands of feet away from the home. The final product is a mobile app on your phone which can detect leaks and notify you immediately and allows you to monitor and manage your water use—indoors and out. We learned a ton with Flume 1 distributed to tens of thousands of customers. Flume 2 builds on our success with a number of important improvements. Not only does Flume 2 look much better, we completely redesigned the antennas for increased reliability in the most challenging environments. The most important new feature is the rate at which we sample water. We now sample every 5 seconds which will allow us to distinguish how much water is being used by each of your household water fixtures and appliances. Flume's water monitoring solution is awesome, it notifies me when one of the kids accidentally leaves a hose spigot running outside, if one of our toilets is stuck running or if I have a bonafide leak someone on my property. Installation was a breeze and connection to my wifi network was a snap. Get it and you'll be happy, chances are you'll find a leak you had no idea about.

I found a big leak within a week using the flume. Its leak detection system alerted me via text and the issue was solved within minutes. Furthermore, it's helped my house understand our usage better and given us more piece of mind.

Really great product for an emerging area of both environmental and cost saving measures.
