Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Roger, creator of Fermata. A few months ago, I started building Fermata as a visual canvas for orchestrating multiple Claude Code agents in parallel. I launched an early v0, and while parallel agents were fun to watch, my own daily usage and feedback from early users made something clear: Running parallel agents without a shared contract doesn’t speed up development—it just multiplies chaos. I found myself babysitting terminal sessions instead of actually building. As LLM models evolved, newer tools began exploring the concept of "software factories" to solve this. But that introduced a different problem: upload your company's entire repository to their cloud, run headless agents on remote servers, and pay monthly per-seat subscriptions plus token markups. I wanted something different: a real software factory that runs locally on my Mac, using the Claude CLI setup I already trust. So I rebuilt Fermata around a structured four-phase workflow called a "piece": 1. 📝 Guided Interview: The agent reads your codebase first and interviews you on requirements and edge cases before drafting the spec contract. 2. 📐 Strategy: An architecture plan detailing files to change and implementation steps. You can annotate with margin notes, edit inline, or regenerate before code is touched. 3. 🤖 Agents in Waves: The plan decomposes into a graph of coding agents that execute in waves inside an isolated git worktree. Agents commit locally; nothing touches your main checkout. 4. 🔍 Review & PR: You inspect the unified diff alongside an automated work review verdict. Fermata opens the pull request through `gh`. It never merges on its own. You merge. When you have a backlog of features, the Loop board runs them hands-off with customizable concurrency limits and supervision gates (Manual, Auto, or Loop).
