I built Fenestrae because I kept losing my carefully arranged desktop every time I undocked my laptop or woke my machine from sleep. Windows just doesn't remember where anything was — and re-arranging six or seven windows by hand, every single day, adds up to a genuinely annoying tax on your workflow. Fenestrae solves it two ways: Layout profiles — you save a named snapshot of your window positions tied to your exact monitor configuration. When that setup is detected again (dock, undock, wake from sleep), the right layout restores automatically. No hotkey needed. Arrange Mode (Ctrl+Win+A) — a transparent overlay with a live snap grid and gap indicators that turn green when spacing is equal. Basically design-tool precision for your desktop. It's built on .NET 9 and WinUI 3, installs without admin rights, stores everything as local JSON, and has no telemetry. The free trial is the full product — no feature locks, no nagging.
