Funny to hunt something 10 years old on PH, but recently had to fax some PDF out from the computer and found this to be useful. Free option with ads or $1.99 option without ads.

This was an easy simple service for sending short faxes. They do put an advertisement on the cover page, but that doesn't impact me.
Pros:
Easy fast cheap for short faxes <3 pages
Cons:
If you need to send longer faxes, there might be better alternatives.
