falsify: Find pytest tests that pass for the wrong reason

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Joseph, a solo developer. I made falsify, a tool that finds pytest tests that pass for the wrong reason. What it catches: • asserts that can never fail, like assertTrue(1) or a value compared with itself • mock.patch and monkeypatch calls aimed at names that don't exist, so they patch nothing • asserts in passing tests that never actually ran • tests that pass only because a comment holds the text they look for What it doesn't do: it looks for these specific patterns. It doesn't grade your whole test suite the way mutation testing does. Why I built it: in my own codebase I kept finding green tests that weren't really checking anything.
