I built Fairtake because every grammar checker I tried kept rewriting my sentences. I’d fix one typo and end up with an email that didn’t sound like me any more.

Fairtake does the opposite. It’s a proofreader, not a ghostwriter:

It changes the wrong word and nothing else. A suggestion touches only what it flagged. A whole sentence is rewritten only if you press Rewrite.
It checks in your browser. The checker runs on your device, so what you type isn’t sent anywhere to be checked. Rewrite is the one feature that sends text out, and only the passage you choose.
It catches commonly confused words: your/you’re, affect/effect, then/than, “between you and I”.
It knows your English: US, UK, Canadian, Australian and Indian.
It’s free without a trial or card. You can try it on the home page without signing up. The paid plan adds more rewrites and a few extras, and there’s a browser extension in early access.
