Look at another screen, window or split pane and start typing. Eyeshift uses the webcam you already have to move keyboard focus to wherever you're looking, so you stop typing into the wrong window. It works with split panes in iTerm2, Ghostty, VS Code, Cursor, Zed, Xcode and JetBrains, never steals focus while you type, and learns from your clicks. Everything runs on your Mac: nothing recorded, nothing sent. A free, open-source alternative to Glance Switch.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I usually have three or four Claude Code sessions open across two screens. I'd look at one, start typing, and my words would land in a different one. Every single time I had to stop and click first.
So I built Eyeshift. It watches your webcam and moves keyboard focus to whatever you're looking at: another monitor, another window, or another split pane in your terminal or editor.
A few things I cared about:
- It never steals your typing. Focus stays put while you type, use the mouse, or look down at your keyboard.
- It gets better as you use it. Every click teaches it where you were looking. If it switches wrongly, just click where you meant and it corrects itself.
- Your camera stays on your Mac. Frames are processed in memory with Apple's Vision framework and thrown away. No account, no analytics, no network.
Honest limit: webcam eye tracking is good to about a thumbnail-sized area. That's plenty for picking a window or pane, not for replacing your mouse.
It's free and MIT-licensed. Install with Homebrew:
brew tap chaibreak/tap; brew trust --tap chaibreak/tap; brew install --cask eyeshift
I'd love to hear which terminal or editor you use it with. Pane support depends on how each app exposes itself to macOS, so reports help a lot.
