Every iPhone photo silently carries GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, and timestamps. EXIF Eraser strips all of it on-device in seconds β no upload, no account, no tracking. Share photos without leaking your home address or device fingerprint.
Hey Product Hunt π
I built EXIF Eraser after a small scare β I posted a photo of my
coffee setup on Twitter, and a week later a stranger replied with
a rough guess of my neighborhood. The culprit? EXIF GPS data that
Twitter didn't strip.
When I dug into it, every photo on my phone carried:
β’ Exact GPS coordinates (to ~3m)
β’ Camera serial number
β’ Timestamp to the second
β’ Device model, lens info, sometimes Wi-Fi SSID
Existing "metadata remover" apps were either ad-stuffed, subscription-
only for a 2-second task, or β worst of all β asked to upload your
photos to a cloud to "process" them. Kind of defeats the point.
So I spent ~3 weeks building something that:
β Runs 100% on-device (no network calls at all)
β Works in the share sheet (one tap from any app)
β Handles HEIC, JPEG, PNG, even Live Photos
β Keeps color profiles intact
β Zero account, zero tracking, zero ads
Pricing: free to try, one-time unlock or lifetime tier β no
subscription, because recurring charges for a privacy tool you
use once a week felt wrong.
Would genuinely love your feedback on:
1. Is the share-sheet flow intuitive, or should it be a main-app
flow first?
2. Any other metadata fields you'd want visibility into?
Happy to answer anything about the build, the App Store review
process for privacy apps, or the tech decisions. Thanks for
checking it out π
