Hey PH! 👋 I built Excalimate over the weekend because I kept wanting to animate my Excalidraw diagrams for presentations and docs, but there was no good way to do it without re-creating everything in a motion design tool. Excalimate keeps the Excalidraw drawing experience you already know and adds a timeline-based animation system on top. Draw your diagram, switch to animate mode, add keyframes, export. The MCP server was a later addition but turned out to be the most fun part — you can tell Claude or Copilot "create a flowchart showing how authentication works, then animate it step by step" and watch it happen live. A fair warning: a lot of this codebase was built with AI, and I'm still cleaning things up. If you hit bugs, please open an issue — I'm actively working on it.
