@jp1016v1 Thanks!

Is it created in Electron ?
Alec Rios
@csaba_kissi Hey there, yes it's an Electron app.

I think this is pretty but I feel like Numi has already made a more robust version of what this app is aiming for. (https://numi.app/)
Alec Rios
@karlnislow Hey Karl, I've used Numi in the past, and there are a few reasons why I built this to replace it. 1. Numi is only available on macOS, while Evaluator is available on macOS and Windows. 2. The price of Numi is about to go up to $20, while Evaluator will always be free. 3. Numi is optimized for lots of structured calculations, while Evaluator is more focused on quick one-off calculations. Most of the time, that's all I need. I hope that helps to clarify some of the differences between the two apps. Thanks for the comment.

@alecrios That makes some sense. I didn't realize that Numi was macOS only. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. Good luck!

The reason I built Evaluator is that I needed a simple and beautiful calculator that was effortless to use. That's why the app is just a small floating modal that you can toggle with a hotkey. I also needed it to be powerful, so I added support for all the major operators, constants, and functions. I use this thing every day and it really helps me be productive, so I hope you give it a try. If you do, please let me know what you think!

It's nice that you've added a demo on the website. It convinced me to download the app!
Alec Rios
@mustafa_bhatkar Awesome, I'm glad that was useful!

I am on MacOS Catalina. I am not able to open the App.
Alec Rios
@sandeep_acharya Hi Sandeep, this is a background app so you won't see anything open automatically. To open Evaluator, you can press alt+space. Check the website for the rest of the keyboard shortcuts.
Ryan Roberts
@sandeep_acharya @alecrios I think Sandeep means it literally won't open as you've not got it signed by Apple, at least that's what happened for me.
Sandeep Acharya
@alecrios @ryan_roberts1 Yeah the app needs to be notarized. This is a must for Catalina.

Hey ! Thanks for this application. I switch from macOS to Windows and numi was missing there. I'd like to know if there will be in the future most constants and way to have conversions between them. Like: 3 meters to imperial, etc... And will it be possible for a user to extend the application ? adding constants, etc... Thank you for the app.
Alec Rios
@yann_schmidt Hey Yann, I'm glad you like it. I have considered adding the ability to extend the functionality with custom settings. Being able to define your own constants would be nice. I don't think I would add conversion functionality like "3 meters to imperial" because it would require rewriting the syntax parsing system. But I would like to add the ability to define custom functions, such as metersToFeet(). I can't provide any time estimate as to when these features might be implemented, but they're definitely on my mind!
