EdgeBar turns your MacBook trackpad edges into smooth volume and brightness controls, with haptic feedback. Slide the right edge for volume and the left for brightness, with the same on-screen display as the keyboard keys and a light haptic tick as you go. Double-tap the top-right corner to mute, swipe the bottom edge to skip tracks. Lives in the menu bar, uses almost no CPU. $9 once, with lifetime updates.

The haptic tick per step is the detail that makes this feel right — without it, a trackpad slider is just guessing at the level. My one worry with edge gestures is accidental triggers during normal use, when I'm just moving the cursor around or reaching for a scroll, so the Active Area selection you're working on is the feature I'd actually want first. The external monitor HUD support is a nice touch too — that's the part macOS itself never got right.
