Since January 2025, every business in Germany has to be able to receive e-invoices. The problem: an XRechnung is pure XML, and a ZUGFeRD PDF only shows the picture the sender printed into it, not the data your accounting actually processes. Most people simply can't read what they've received.
So I built the eInvoice Viewer:
Reads every common format: XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, Factur-X and Peppol BIS, as UBL or CII, as XML or as a PDF with the XML embedded.
Readable like a document: header, parties, line items, VAT and totals, even for a pure XML file without any visual.
Recalculates everything: line items, VAT and totals. If an amount doesn't add up, it's marked in red with both values shown.
Private by design: it's a single HTML file that runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.
Free: as a one-file app and as a WordPress plugin on wordpress.org.
If you need more, there are paid add-ons. They check whether an invoice actually fits your company, verify VAT IDs and IBANs, compare the ZUGFeRD PDF with its XML data, or validate against the official rules.
I'd love your feedback, especially from anyone dealing with e-invoices outside Germany. Which formats or countries should I support next?
