Duella is a debate app where you pick a side on real topics and make your case against real people. Structured one on one debates, honest feedback, and a ranking that rewards good arguments.
We are the builder of Duella, a live 1v1 debate app where you get matched with a stranger, picked a side, and argue it out in real time. Think ranked matchmaking, but for arguments instead of Valorant.
Anyone who's argued in a comment section knows how it goes no structure, no time limit, and within a few replies you've lost the actual thing you were arguing about. There's also no way to look back and tell who actually made the better case, because nothing was ever scored or judged. It's just volume and who has more time to keep typing.
Duella fixes that by putting a clock, a topic, and a scoring system around the argument. You get matched, you get a side, you get a set time to make your case — and at the end, someone wins. Not because they typed the last reply, but because the argument was actually better.
How it works:
1. Get matched with an opponent and a topic
2. Debate live, structured rounds
3. Get scored, gain/lose Elo
4. Climb the leaderboard
What makes it different from a Twitter argument:
it's structured, timed, and scored not a pile-on, just two people making the best case they can.
This is genuinely v1, We are two people, building this, and I'd rather ship something real and rough than wait for perfect. I'd love your feedback, brutal or otherwise, especially on
1. matching speed? topic quality? scoring fairness?
2. What debate topics you'd want to see
If you match with someone before I get you a bot opponent, may the better argument win.
Thanks for checking it out I'll be here all day answering everything.
