How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?

I started with a straightforward idea: help people look up medicines, understand side effects, and check selected interactions. Astra expanded my ambition from displaying information to helping people understand it in the moment they need it. With Astra’s vision capability, the experience can begin with a photograph of a medication package. A user confirms the suggested match, then explores the medicine’s uses, side effects, and selected comparisons with their saved list. Astra also explains retrieved label passages with supporting quotations and helps turn findings into questions for a pharmacist or doctor. That changed the product I wanted to build. Instead of expecting people to know what to search for and how to interpret a label, I could start with something they already have in their hand—and help them reach a more informed conversation. Hi Product Hunt, I’m Sree, the maker of DoseLucid. I started DoseLucid with a simple concern: a medicine is meant to help us, yet understanding it can leave us with more questions. Could this symptom be a side effect? Does this over-the-counter product contain something I already take? What should I ask before adding it to my routine? Imagine standing in a pharmacy aisle, holding a box in one hand and trying to remember your current medicines. You are looking for relief. You also want to make a thoughtful decision. The information on the box matters, but so does the context of your own list. That is the moment I built DoseLucid for. Take a photo of a package label or search for a medicine. Confirm the product, then see what it is used for, its available side-effect information and selected checks against your list together. You do not have to save the new medicine before exploring it. Source links stay close, and a downloadable summary helps you take your questions to a pharmacist or doctor. GPT-6 Astra makes the experience more approachable: it reads printed package labels, explains retrieved label passages with supporting quotations, and turns selected findings into plain-English questions. The app checks that quoted passages match the supplied label text. That checks the quotation, not the clinical accuracy of the explanation. I also want to be honest about the boundaries. Label search covers more products than the interaction checker. Today, the checker uses two curated interaction rules and ingredient-overlap checks. Unassessed combinations stay visible. DoseLucid cannot confirm that a combination is safe, but it can help you have a more informed discussion with your pharmacist or doctor. My ambition is to make medication information easier to understand at the moment people need it. For this challenge, I built a working starting point you can try today.
