PDFs and photos carry more than you think: author names, internal template names, software versions, GPS coordinates, device serials and timestamps. Docfy shows those fields before you send a file, then removes them locally in the browser.

Hi Product Hunt
I built Docfy because 'just delete the metadata' is harder than it sounds. Most online tools upload your file first, and some only clear the property dictionary, leaving the XMP packet behind.
Docfy runs entirely in the browser. It rebuilds the PDF without document-level metadata, then parses the output again before download. If any field survives, it reports a failure instead of handing over a file. The same applies to photos: re-encode in canvas, re-parse, and verify zero EXIF.
To verify the privacy claim: open DevTools → Network, clear the cache, and confirm no request includes the file. There are no third-party scripts; I do count a small set of anonymous, cookie-free events to determine whether the tools work (details on the privacy page).
Happy to answer technical questions — especially weird PDFs and edge cases.
