Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built dLine because I spend most of my time in the terminal and wanted a simple, but powerful way to track categorized important dates, reminders and timelines without opening a GUI calendar or fiddling with my phone. dLine is a lightweight Bash tool that lets you view calendars, track events and calculate time spans directly from the command line. It’s designed to be fast, scriptable and easy to integrate into everyday terminal workflows. One feature that’s especially useful for users in Europe: dLine can automatically pull public holidays via an API based on your country, region or province. It could be fully translated into your language as well. This means your terminal calendar can instantly reflect national and local non-working days without any tedious manual setup. For users outside the supported regions, you can still achieve similar functionality by importing important dates from Google Calendar, allowing you to keep your personal or regional holidays in sync with dLine. The idea was to make the terminal calendar aware of real-world schedules - whether that’s public holidays, personal events or project timelines. Another unique feature of dLine is the ability to maintain multiple calendars in parallel. For example, you can track a Japan team calendar with local holidays while keeping a separate one for Germany - ideal for freelancers working with remote teams across different countries.
