@agathe_roubert Thank you, Agathe, that exact tension is basically why discode exists. You shouldn't have to choose between using AI and feeling okay about it. Our honest take isn't "use less AI," it's "use the right amount for the task": a small model for a small job, a bigger one only when it earns it, and the footprint shown next to it so the choice isn't invisible. We can't make the strain disappear, but we can stop it from being a blind spot. Glad it resonates with you.
Eco-friendly angle is genuinely underrated in the AI space - most people don't think about the carbon cost of hitting 5 different APIs vs routing through one. How does the model selection work under the hood? Does it pick the model for you based on the task, or is it always manual?
Love the Eco angle Pete, most AI tools hide the environmental cost, you put it front and center. Bold choice.
Also those Crew characters are brilliant: Gloria, Sven, Veritas, DJ Smarty McFly each have real personality. As a motion designer I kept thinking how alive they'd feel animated.

Those two are the heart of it for us, and really one idea. The on-device privacy filter is the sovereignty part we care about most: your data stays on your own machine, so using AI doesn't quietly hand Europe's data and value to infrastructure we don't own or control. The eco side is the other half, and a week like this makes it painfully literal (this heat we're both sitting in is no joke). That's the different race we'd rather run: not who builds the most powerful system, but whether Europe can build AI that stays sustainable and keeps the person in control, here, on our own terms.
We're early and we own it, the eco numbers are estimates and a first step, so having you see what we're reaching for is real fuel. Thank you, and stay cool in this heat.
