Director is a native macOS canvas for orchestrating Codex agents. Plan, code, review, and ship as connected nodes that pass context from one node to the next. Each workspace isolated in its own git worktree. Github and Linear integrations, command palette, voice dictation with your provider of choice and native Swift performance in an app that you can ship your most complex ideas with.
Hello, Product Hunt. Wow, been a minute.
This is Director, my Codex orchestrator that solves my biggest problem with coding agents. Or rather two biggest problems.
1. Gigantic threads.
Very often you just don't want to drop context by starting a new thread, but the models get dumber the longer the thread gets, even with Codex's compaction. Node canvas flow allows passing context between conversations within one workspace in a controlled way that's visually parse-able.
2. Sidebars
They're everywhere, it's always a chat in the middle and a sidebar on the left. I feel like the future of software engineering deserves an actual engineering surface. I'm sure most of you have a very long, out of control sidebar with dozens of projects and threads in your orchestrator of choice. I just don't think that UI paradigm is sufficient for the kind of parallel work coding agents unlock, and I believe this is something better
Director uses your existing Codex CLI subscription, integrates with Github and Linear and is designed to fit your workflow.
Give it a try, it's free to check out and if you want to unlock the full version - there are infinite possibilities on the canvas.
Let's ship 🚀
