Hi everybody! I’m Antonio, the builder of Destino Docente. I started building it after seeing how difficult it can be for public-school teachers in Spain to choose where to work. The problem is surprisingly complex: teachers may need to choose among hundreds of schools, sometimes across different regions, while the official information is fragmented across multiple public administrations. Destino Docente brings that information together and helps teachers compare schools by something much more useful than straight-line distance: actual door-to-door travel time from where they live. A school in another region can sometimes be a better option than one in your own. Over time, I’ve expanded it with real vacancy data from public teacher-assignment systems, school information and reviews, carpooling, accommodation and teacher swaps — all around the same question: “Where should I work, and how do I make that destination work for me?” Today it covers more than 13,500 public schools across multiple Spanish regions, and I’m continuing to expand its national coverage. I’ve built Destino Docente independently, so I’d especially appreciate feedback on the product, positioning and how you’d approach taking something this local and data-heavy to the next level.
