I’m the platform engineer on Decys, and building this really changed how I think about decision-making systems.
From an engineering perspective, the problem isn’t lack of tools — it’s that decisions live in too many places and rarely become structured, reusable artifacts. You see it in things like:
“Temporary” choices that quietly become long-term architecture
Duplicate tools because nothing enforces visibility or policy
Decisions made in chats that never make it into systems of record
What we focused on with Decys was treating decisions like infrastructure — something that should be consistent, governed, and repeatable, not ad hoc.
One thing I found especially interesting was separating responsibilities:
