deco.cx is an open-source web editor that removes all friction from building modern web apps.
It became too complex and boring to build for the web, even for experienced developers. We are making it enjoyable again, so more people and brands can freely express their creativity.
deco.cx is made for professional web developers and marketing teams who want to build bespoke digital experiences fast - from institutional landing pages to enterprise headless storefronts.
You need to give your Chief Meme Officer a massive raise!
This looks super useful, would have loved to use this when I built my latest website - but I'll try it for the next one.
Do you have support for the common VSCode extensions?
@fabian_m He truly deserves it. Right, @lucasgribeiro? We currently have a minimal editor in our web view, however we plan to support local vscode development will all extensions working locally.
@fabian_m You can already code on VSCode and Github, but we're hoping to have such a good web editor that you won't find the need to cloning the repo locally. Quite honestly, we're not there yet! But with some work and love, we know we can!
Hi Gui, congratulations on launching 2.0! It's exciting to see a platform that not only speeds up frontend development but also fosters collaboration between developers and marketing teams. The seamless integration of modern technologies and the focus on both developer power and ease of use are impressive. I'm curious, what has been the most challenging aspect of creating a unified environment from code to content? Looking forward to joining the community and watching the platform evolve!
@alex_dulub the most challenging aspect is, without a doubt, _knowing which parts of reality to hide!_ We're all about combining the power of full-code with the convenience of no-code. We think going all the way no-code and removing developers from the picture is not scalable for serious websites. Instead, allowing them to collaborate quickly is the key for fast evolution! So we're targeting junior developers, and we want to give them the right tools to create high-performance sites quickly. I think we're onto something with our abstractions of "Sections" (UI), "Loaders" (data fetching) and "Actions" (input handlers). Having these as first-class primitives allows us to do stuff that other platforms can't dream of, like giving opinionated insights into your code's performance, latency, errors, etc.

Wow. Looks like a really cool solution and I LOVE your sales video. Great job. "After 15 years of evolution frontend development has become more complicated than Tolkien's mythology." ha, ha - good one.
OK, this product trailer is an instant upvote.
Besides that, the idea is great, takes me back to the good ol'days of building with Visual Basic hehe. The amount of work is tremendous, really impressive.
Unfortunatelly, I wasnβt able to play around with any of the prebuilt templates, but hey, itβs launch day, so Iβm guessing you guys are dealing with some heavy traffic right now!
One thing I noticed though, is that the number of prebuilt templates seems a bit on the limited side, and I'm assuming it's a list that's curated by the development team. Given the building nature of the product, I think itβd be really cool to have a space where users can share all sorts of templates theyβve created with deco. Imagine having easy access to dozens, even hundreds of community-built templates right from the builder β that would be awesome.
@vorniches loved your comment. Thank you for trying the product out! What happened when you tried to use the templates? It should be working!
And yes, having hundreds of templates is our next priority! We will launch a new version of our "marketplace store", called deco hub https://deco.cx/en/hub
(sadlky this page is broken rn, but we are fixing it)
@vorniches thanks for the heads up, engineers are dealing with this problem right now! Of course some of the scaling measures we took late yesterday to prevent a disaster today, actually backfired and created a new bug in the frontend π wouldn't be a proper launch without a critical bug, would it?? hehe! but we're fixing it! and thanks for the lovely comment :)

@rafaelgcrespo great move with the market place, good luck with that!
>What happened when you tried to use the templates
It trying to load for a while, but then show the message with sad capibara and 'Oops, something went wrong' :) Nothing essential in the console errors tho.
Firefox 124.0.2 (64-bit)
Monterey 12.6 (21G115)
MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
@rafaelgcrespo@vorniches We could replicate this issue on Firefox! We are working on the fix. Meanwhile, you should be able to use it on Chrome without any issues. Thanks for reporting it!!

Revolutionary Editor! I am astounded! I must take the time to thoroughly experience it.
I wonder if Deco can replace Visual Studio Code?
Wow, such an impressive product. Really love how you bring together development and content management. The automatic forms based on the typescript models are awesome.
Any nice examples of websites out there that were built on deco.cx?
@jopie Thank you so much for the feedback! We also love the automatic form feature, it's really a game changer. You can check the list of our live storefront projects here: https://deco.cx/en/live-projects
I'd give a special attention to osklen.com.br one of the leading fashion brands in Brazil and a beautiful website all around.
Go Deco team! Big kudos for building such an amazing product. I'm a huge fan of the whole team and the technology behind it. All the best. Waving from London! π
