I built DECKHAND out of irritation with what "free" Windows utilities have become: scare tactics ("1,247 registry errors found!"), bundled toolbars, RAM-booster placebo and a PRO upsell behind every button. DECKHAND does six things in one window, and every one of them comes from official sources: - driver updates from the Microsoft Update catalog (WHQL-signed only) + detection of devices with no driver at all - app updates for Chrome and hundreds more via winget - disk cleanup that shows file counts and sizes BEFORE deleting anything (and never touches passwords or history) - reversible startup control - the same mechanism Task Manager uses, nothing gets deleted - a repair toolbox (drive health, DISM+SFC, network reset...) where every tool shows the exact command it runs - a starter pack: 26 hand-picked free apps installed silently on a fresh Windows What's deliberately NOT inside: no antivirus (Defender is fine), no RAM/FPS "boosters", no registry cleaner - and the landing page explains why we're proud of those gaps. On trust: the binary isn't code-signed yet (that's the next milestone), so instead of asking for trust - the full source is on GitHub, every download has a published SHA-256, and you can build an identical exe yourself with one command. Heads up: unsigned means Windows SmartScreen will warn you; "More info" then "Run anyway", or verify the checksum first. MIT-licensed, and the free version is the whole product.
