Hace un tiempo estuve buscando un motor de render que me permitiera trabajar de forma fluida, con buena calidad visual, pero sin tener que pasarme horas configurando materiales o luces. Después de probar varios, descubrí D5 Render, y sinceramente, fue un antes y un después en mi flujo de trabajo.
Lo que más me sorprendió fue la interfaz intuitiva y lo rápido que es aprender a usarlo. Literalmente podés arrastrar tus modelos desde SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, o incluso desde 3ds Max (con plugins), y empezar a renderizar casi al instante. Los materiales que trae por defecto se ven muy bien, y si querés algo más realista, tenés una biblioteca enorme para ajustar texturas, reflejos, rugosidad, etc.
Una de las cosas que más valoro es el render en tiempo real. Vas haciendo cambios y ves inmediatamente cómo queda, sin tener que esperar a que se procese cada vez. Esto no solo ahorra muchísimo tiempo, sino que también permite experimentar más con iluminación, cámaras, efectos atmosféricos, etc.
Como todo software, tiene cosas que podrían mejorar. Por ejemplo:
Gestión de materiales personalizados: a veces se vuelve un poco tedioso organizar y reutilizar materiales que uno crea desde cero. Un sistema de biblioteca personalizada más flexible estaría buenísimo.
a vista en tiempo real es una locura. Ver cómo cambian las sombras, los reflejos y la iluminación a medida que modificás el modelo es algo que te acelera muchísimo el trabajo. Además, tiene herramientas muy buenas para escenas exteriores e interiores: control de hora del día, clima, niebla, lluvia, etc.

After trying several real-time rendering tools, D5 Render has become my favorite by far. What really surprised me is how simple it feels to use, yet how professional the final results look.
