I kept running into the same frustration with basic video edits: sign up first, hand over my footage, put up with watermarks, and pay for a subscription just to get AI help. So I built Cutline, a free video editor you can open and start using right away, without an account. Every change you make is saved as a version you can go back to, so you can experiment freely, and AI is there whenever you want a hand. I started out thinking of it as an AI editor, but along the way I realized it had to be simple and complete on its own first, with AI as an optional helper rather than the whole point.
