Hi I`m creator of Cursorex I`m using Cursor last 1.5 years since all this AI boom has started. But I always asked myself, why I pay for Cursor and have to pay someone else (OpenAI, Grok, etc.) to just have AI chat in my browser - why can`t I use LLM through my already paid cursor API? Last few weeks 2 things changed ➤ Cursor released Cursor typescipt SDK on Apr 29, 2026 ➤ Friend of mine posted about another extension called Chromex (that connect to Codex on you PC and works like AI chat exactly like I wanted but with OpenAI API) So inspired by the idea I decided to develop Cursorex - simple app to chat with Cursor AI from your browser! So what it means for users? ➤ You don`t have to pay money to talk with AI in your Browser if you have already Cursor ➤ You don`t need even to have Cursor installed on your PC ➤ All chat conversations are stored locally on your PC What app can do right now: ➤ Chat with the active page and selected open tabs via the picker. ➤ Attach PDFs, Office files, spreadsheets, CSV, images, and text. ➤ Use\Create quick prompts per domain (e.g. summarize long articles, docs, and research-style pages with structure) ➤ Run image workflows (explain the image or generate image with capable LLM model selected) ➤ Choose where to store artifacts (local workspace or Cloud agents (HTTPS Git repo)). Basic interactions with browser (you can type scroll up\down and it will interact with page) What it still can`t do (compared to Codex app) ➤ Live dictation - not supported by Cursor now ➤ Skills\MCP (partial support) - it should work if you add .cursor/skills folder in your working DIR, MCP is harder and maybe will figure out how to add later. ➤ Complex page interactions like clicks and navigation - it will require Playwright automation, it is out of scope now as many other apps offer it and it wasn`t the goal at start. The app is very early MVP and I wanna to see if there is some interest in it and to hear any feedback from this community, what works, what not, what you`d like to add,...! All completely Free.
