Curated Index is a minimalist video archive and professional network built for filmmakers, DoPs, editors, and directors. We miss the golden era of Vimeo, when video discovery was driven by community and craft, not short-form algorithms. Curated Index recreates that space by combining human curation with deep IMDb-style crew tagging. Full credits for every project that automatically generate claimable portfolio profiles.
Hey!
I’ve been working as an executive producer in the film industry for years, and over the last few years, I kept noticing the same frustration among my peers: we lost our home for real film discovery.
When Vimeo shifted away from its creator-first community roots, indie filmmakers were left scattered between short-form algorithms on TikTok/Reels or getting buried under random noise on YouTube. Finding talented DoPs, editors, or directors through their actual work became way harder than it needed to be.
So, I spent my spare time building CURATED INDEX.
The idea is super simple: build a space that feels like early-era Vimeo (focus on quality, inspiration, and craft) combined with the deep crediting structure of IMDb.
Crucially, we don't host any video files. Everything plays via official Vimeo and YouTube embeds so creators keep 100% of their views and engagement on their original channels.
It's currently an open MVP with over a hundred curated projects and claimable profiles. I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any feature requests from the PH community!
Thanks for checking it out!
