I built cronomonitor.com after spending hours trying to figure out when a service I needed had stopped working in my day job.
How it works:
Every scheduled job pings its own URL when it finishes. If a ping doesn't arrive on time, the job reports a failure, if a run takes too long you get an alert. Just one line at the end of the crontab entry is enough.
How it's different:
Paste your crontab and it creates every check, all you need to do is paste back to your crontab with the pings added.
It catches the sneaky failures, jobs that exit 0, runs that hang, slow running runs.
