Cray scores the people you’re about to trust. Answer a few questions about someone and get a CrayScore (74 behavioral items across 18 categories), a SchemerScore for manipulation and deception, or a BaeScore for the good ones. Upload photos or screenshots of a text thread and Cray reads them against the same items. Built for dating, but it works for roommates, friends and the stranger you’re meeting from Marketplace. Free to start, private by design. iOS, Android and web.

Hi Product Hunt,
I’m Justin, founder of Cray.
Cray started with a relationship I should have walked away from years earlier. The red flags were all there. I just didn’t have a way to see them as a pattern instead of a string of excuses. So I built one.
What Cray does:
CrayScore (free): 74 questions across 18 behavioral categories, from control and coercion to responsibility and conflict style. The score is cumulative, so it only goes one direction as the evidence piles up.
SchemerScore (free): 28 questions focused on deception, manipulation and exploitation. For when someone feels too smooth.
BaeScore (free): the positive counterpart. Not everything is a red flag, and it helps to know what a healthy pattern looks like too.
VibeCheck ($0.99): an AI write-up of your results that names the specific red flags and what they usually mean.
Photo Scan ($0.99) and Convo Scan ($1.99): upload photos or screenshots of a text thread and Cray reads them against the same behavioral items.
It works for dating, but also roommates, friends, group chats and that marketplace stranger you’re meeting in a parking lot. Everything stays private; the app even blocks screenshots so nobody’s results end up on a group chat.
We’re bootstrapped, launched in October 2025, and over a thousand people are already using it without a dollar of paid acquisition. Colleges can license our products, and we make a comedy series and a song catalog (Red Flag Rock) to teach the vocabulary. Our mascot is Crayvon A. Tenshun. You’ll see him around.
Would love your feedback, especially on what you’d want scored next.
