Couchette turns focus sessions into overnight train journeys across Europe. Board a route, work while the cabin rolls through the night, and collect a passport stamp when you arrive. Deep work with somewhere to go. Blocks distracting apps and lets you focus on what is truly important

Curious how the train imagery actually changes during a session, is there a set list of routes you cycle through or does it pull real-time maps of the journey?
Most focus apps try to make people feel productive. I like that you're creating a destination instead—a journey people want to finish.
I'm curious, when did the overnight train metaphor stop being a theme and start becoming the core product?
@czrdev That's the part I find most interesting.
The train isn't just making the timer more engaging—it's creating a psychological commitment to reach a destination. That feels like a different problem from helping people focus.
I'm curious whether users eventually describe Couchette as a focus app or as something that simply makes it harder to quit once they've started.
How does the app actually decide when the focus session "arrives" so you get the stamp? Is the duration fixed or can you pick the length of the overnight route?
Tried it on a long writing session and the train metaphor actually made the timer feel less like a chore. Nice touch that it actually blocks apps too, not just pings.
