Your photos already know where you've been. Contrail reads their dates and locations, groups them into trips automatically, and turns your camera roll into travel stats — entirely on your phone.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Alex - I built Contrail because I wanted an accurate answer to "how much of the world have I actually seen?" and every app I tried made me do the work myself: tag countries by hand, log a trip when I remembered to, keep a travel journal I'd abandon after a month.
Instead, Contrail scans the photos already on your phone, works out where you went and when, and turns it into an actual travel record - trips grouped and dated automatically, real stats on how many places you've visited and how much of the world that is, and a travel map. And not just pins on your camera roll - Photos already does that part - but real trip record keeping and travel stats.
There were two tenets I cared about when building this:
1. It has to be right automatically.
2. Nothing leaves your phone.
It's a native iOS app, no third-party dependencies, $2.99 one-time - no subscription.
Would love to hear what you think! I'll continue to iterate on it and improve, this is just the beginning, so let me know if you have any feedback. And I'd love to hear what your "% of the world" comes out to!
Thanks for checking it out
Alex
